About the Company

21^st Century Textiles Limited, is the largest and most modern textile company in East and Sub-Sahara Africa, established in 2004, consisting of over 2200 full time, permanent employees.

The company is currently involved in textile spinning, weaving and processing activities, as well as the knitting, garmenting and blankets manufacturing, producing textiles such as printed wax, kitenge, khanga, bed sheets, suiting material, school uniform, institutional uniform, t-shirts and more.

Initiatives / Achievements:

• Co-Generation Power Plant – the procurement and installation of co-generation power plant for electricity generation. 21st Century Textiles is envisaged to reduce the factory operation cost of production by investing in cogeneration power plant with a 4.5 MW/hour capacity 
• Caustic Recovery Plant – investment in caustic recovery plant for recovering caustic chemicals for re-use. 21stCentury Textiles is intending to reduce the cost of caustic – the raw material in the textiles processing unit
• Effluent Treatment Plant – investment in effluent treatment plant for wastewater treatment for re-use in the production process. The company’s consumption of water is on average, 3,500 M3/day. The proposed product will recycle wastewater for reuse at an average of 70%, which is equivalent to 2,400 M3/day of water, which will be recovered.
