Job Description

  • Legal Support and Regulatory Compliance Provide administrative and drafting support to the department for third-party claims, litigation, mediation, and arbitration matters.
  • Sending Legal and demand notices to customers as per the credit and remedial policy, immediate attention to default customers
  • Timely response to legal notices from local authorities and customers in dispute of payment and breach of contracts
  • Handling difficult customer situations, visiting hard bucket cases with the remedial management team
  • Supporting remedial teams in the rehabilitation process, restructuring loans, and repossession/disposal of assets
  • Co-ordinate with recovery and repossession agency on default customers providing legal assistance and coordinating with local authorities
  • Managing Collateral (additional security) for title deed and securing assets with the necessary legal framework with the collateral registry
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and agreements, including vendor contracts, client agreements, and partnership agreements.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, risk assessment, and compliance issues.
  • Research and analyze legal issues and regulations relevant to the organization's operations and industry.
  • Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and legal trends that may impact the organization and provide recommendations for compliance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage and protect the organization's intellectual property assets, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
  • Handle legal disputes and litigation matters, including managing outside counsel and representing the organization in court or alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Assist with corporate governance matters, including board meetings, resolutions, and regulatory filings.
  • Provide legal training and guidance to employees on legal issues and best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain legal documentation, including corporate records, contracts, and regulatory filings.
  • Respond to legal inquiries and requests from internal and external stakeholders promptly and professionally.

  • Ensure that the organization's activities and operations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Assist in general business law issues including customer matters, procurement, and governance, and ensure that the company complies with the law while ensuring that the business runs smoothly
  • Assist in reviewing and updating internal policies and ensure that they follow all statutory or legal requirements.
  • Provide support with the implementation of governance, risk, and compliance programs.
  • Identify legal risks and offer alternative strategies and mitigation. Consult with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action are taken.
  • Interpret legal information and conduct training to disseminate appropriate legal requirements for employees.
  • Assist in training employees in new processes and ensuring effective implementation and a compliance culture.
  • Providing standard legal opinions. Assist with the updating of all local and foreign statutory records. Organize, prepare agendas and attend meetings, take and distribute minutes, formulate decision matrixes and attend to action plans.
  • Management Assist in customer on-boarding processes, including vetting. Review, analyze, and discuss any amendments to the STCs with customers.
  • Visit warehouses for investigations in relation to breach of contract to defend and limit our liability. Manage contracts and promote customer and supplier/service provider relations.
  • Perform other legal tasks and responsibilities as assigned by senior management.
