Job Description

 

  • Implement HSE policies, advise, and support stakeholders to ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify workplace hazards and implement control measures.
  • Investigate accidents/incidents, determine root causes, and implement preventive/control measures.
  • Conduct daily site inspections, intervene in unsafe acts, and ensure adherence to PPE and safety rules.
  • Conduct and coordinate toolbox talks, ensuring supervisors hold them at the start of each shift or activity.
  • Document and maintain all HSE-related records while managing the flow of HSE information.
  • Coordinate with management during external audits, inspections, and statutory compliance checks.
  • Conduct internal audits, review the effectiveness of control measures, and recommend improvements.
  • Liaise with government agencies for statutory audits and ensure the implementation of recommendations.
  • Prepare and submit HSE reports to the HSE manager, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and update the HSE file to ensure the validity of certificates, permits, and licenses.
  • Develop a training matrix and conduct in-house HSE training sessions to raise awareness and implement safe systems of work, including Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures.
  • Prepare and manage the HSE budget, including CAPEX, OPEX, emergency expenses, and training needs.
  • Develop emergency response plans, schedule critical safety equipment inspections, and review drill performance for continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Ensure the safety of all procured equipment during installation and operation, including requisite inspections.
  • Monitor waste disposal, emissions, and effluents to ensure environmental management compliance.
  • Lead the Occupational Health and Safety Committee, ensuring effective consultations and quarterly meetings.
  • Establish periodic HSE procedures, conduct senior management reviews, and advise on necessary improvements.
  • Implement international best practices and industry standards applicable to operations.
  • Advise management on specific health and safety concerns that pose potential health risks.
  • Serve as the principal advisor and primary point of contact for all HSE-related matters within the unit.
