Job Description

Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Repossession, Bad Debt Loan Recovery, and Disaster Recovery teams, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
Repossession Operations: Oversee the repossession of assets, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Develop and implement strategies to maximize asset recovery rates.
Review & Analysis: Regularly review the repayment trends of watchlist/NPL accounts under the Recovery Department using monthly arrears reports to assess improvements or further deterioration, initiating immediate action as required.
Setting Targets: Develop departmental targets in line with the company’s strategic goals, ensuring timely achievement. Address any variances between set targets and actual performance.
Repossessed Assets: Ensure that all repossessed assets are properly documented, stored, and either sold or repurposed to maximize recovery value.
Bad Debt Recovery: Manage the bad debt recovery process, including negotiating settlements, pursuing legal action, and working with third-party collection agencies. Optimize recovery rates through effective strategies and processes.
Collaboration: Coordinate with the GPS Tracking Team, IT, and other relevant departments to ensure that critical data and systems are protected and can be quickly restored.
Coordination: Ensure 24/7 collaboration with the GPS tracking team to maintain an active recovery response team that can immediately act on any threat alerts and take necessary action on the ground.
Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a crisis. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all recovery operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Identify and mitigate risks associated with repossession, debt recovery, and disaster recovery.
Team Development: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal teams, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions. Maintain strong relationships to facilitate effective recovery operations.
Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on recovery activities, performance metrics, and risk assessments. Use data and analysis to drive decision-making and improve recovery outcomes.
