Job Description

 

  • Oversee unbaled and baled sisal fibers.
  • Ensure that work in the brush room is performed to a high standard and in accordance with regulations.
  • Ensure that no sisal fibers are scattered or discarded during brushing and cleaning processes.
  • Ensure that cleaned and brushed fibers are arranged according to regulations and that fiber grades are not mixed.
  • Ensure that the quantity of unbrushed and uncleaned fibers in the room does not exceed the daily workload limit.
  • Ensure that the weight and shape of bales comply with the sisal board regulations.
  • Ensure that sisal bales on the baling machine are properly baled and secured without the need for re-baling.
  • Ensure that bales are tied according to standard, arranged, counted, and identified according to their grades.
  • Ensure that vehicles loading bales are packed according to instructions without delay, and that shipping documents are prepared in accordance with the operations department’s regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure that all reports related to the brush room, as per company procedures, are accurately completed and reflect the actual situation in the room.
  • Ensure that the brush room is closed according to the established procedure at the end of the workday.
  • Ensure that decorticated sisal fibers distributed in the drying yard are free of any unprocessed bundles.
  • Report on the quality of decorticated sisal fibers and ensure that any issues are resolved promptly.
  • Ensure that drying fibers are turned daily and that space is available for new fibers to dry on the same day.
  • Ensure that drying fibers are turned evenly if they become wet.
  • Ensure that no sisal fibers fall to the ground or are lost.
  • Maintain accurate records of fibers being dried in the respective yard.
  • Ensure there is no shortage or loss of fibers being dried or turned in the area.
  • Ensure that the drying yard is repaired and cleaned (removing leaves), and that all lines are easily accessible.
  • Ensure that each area has proper fencing and security guards to prevent livestock from entering the sisal drying yard.
  • Ensure that every evening there are no faults and that security lights are functioning properly.
  • Hand over all stocks present in the drying yard to the night guard in the evening and ensure accurate handover in the morning.
  • Ensure that the distribution of fibers is done properly, and that sisal fibers are cleaned and stored correctly in the brush room.
  • Verify that the fibers from the corona are the same ones that reach the drying area.
  • Ensure that all drying fibers are measured and confirm that no losses occur.
