Job Description

Responsible for the P&L of the business and for achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual targets as outlined in the Annual Business Plan.
• Review and approve commercial credit proposals, ensuring a balanced approach between returns and risk exposure, and define credit exposure limits based on financial assessments.
• Lead a team of credit approvers and collection officers to maintain a high standard of credit quality across the portfolio by utilizing various credit assessment tools.
• Engage in the development, implementation, review, and monitoring of credit programs, and provide training and coaching to continuously enhance the competency of team members.
• Review and develop credit approval policies and guidelines, and participate in ad hoc investigative or troubleshooting projects related to specific customer portfolios.
• Ensure that debt recovery procedures are effective and that all available recovery options are utilized to maximize recovery outcomes; manage any extreme credit control situations.
• Monitor the credit-granting process, ensuring consistent application of credit policies, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and assessment of potential customers’ creditworthiness, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and minimizing bad-debt losses.
• Ensure that all business-related matters concerning the administration of MOFCLs, secretarial, statutory, legal, branch management, and working capital efficiency measures are adhered to.
• Implement and utilize proper systems and processes for loan assessment, disbursement, and collections.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and submit various weekly and monthly reports and data to management and the credit bureau as required by banking regulations.
• Liaise with auditors, head office, and statutory agencies on financial matters, ensuring adherence to BOT guidelines.
• Maintain a departmental organizational structure that supports all goals and objectives, and measure departmental performance using appropriate metrics.
